What Can We Take From The Latest Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Trailer?

assassins creed 4 black flag edward kenway

Send to KindleTweetToday a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag was released, detailing more gameplay than has ever been revealed before, but what I’m interested in is what it shows about the game. First and foremost is the voice of Edward Kenway himself, the main man players will be investing around thirty hours of their lives in. Ubisoft have clearly put the effort in when sourcing the voice actor for Edward, because he has the exact voice you’d expect from the time period. This is an Englishman who battles with massive ships every day of his life, exchanging cannon fire like words in conversation, consuming enough rum to sink the ship he sails and, above all else, shooting or stabbing most people he meets, all of which this gruff voice setting the scene for the trailer portrays. Think Everyone Wants an iPhone 5? Think Again

(L-R): iPhone 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, 2G

Send to KindleTweetSure, news has now been spreading around cybertown that demands for Apple’s iPhone 5 are falling. This may be true to some point – mainly because some Apple fans are smart enough to wait for the later iteration of Apple’s “insanely great” phone; may also be untrue  as there is also this one article discussing about how the iPhone 5 is a “not-so-cool-anymore” smartphone according to teenagers, but we all know this could be just too incredible to believe. But there is one question to ask Apple fans, including myself: Does everyone really want an iPhone 5? If you are like me, as a personal preference I don’t really need to jump from the iPhone 4S to its younger brother. A colleague of mine owns an iPhone 4, but he doesn’t really plan to upgrade either. Maybe if I owned a really old phone – the first iPhone, perhaps?  Or even if I had an iPhone 3G. I wouldn’t even tolerate a 3GS, in my humble opinion. But there’s a different story for everyone. Take freelance journalist Peter Falck for a good example. As reported from The Unofficial Apple Weblog, this guy displays one unique kind of loyalty to Apple. He owns an iPhone 3G, which he obtained way back in January 2009. Yes – with an officially a four-year-old smartphone, Falck says he still loves the very same features Jobs boasted off about back in 2009. These days, those kind of phones would have already been damaged. In other cases, not even the newest smartphones are given the proper treatment that they deserve – take some of the craziest experiments done by teenagers on the iPhone 5, as seen on YouTube. There are actually a few advantages to the iPhone 3G, even against today’s standards. Some of these are as follows: The curved plastic back. According to Falck, this ergonomic quality gives off that ease of holding the 3G, as compared to recent improvements in aesthetics of the iPhone 4 up to the 5. The old, smoothly rounded design feels easier and friendlier to the hand. Sure it’s fatter, but fat can be sexy, too. Slow can be good, too. As a writer, Falck says that the slow speed of his phone forces him to write slowly. He also tends to be careful with his choice of words, thanks to this uncanny feature. But this can be a double-edged sword; Falck shares that this also slows down his train of thought, which results to some ideas lost in the process. Web and Media content is still there. While the lack of compatible apps due to updates can be a nuisance to using such an old device, Falck is still happy with the things he can do with his 3G – IP Telephony and eMail. Besides, it can still play videos nicely. Well, I’d give him a good two thumbs up for that. Anyone else sharing the same philosophy as Falck? Feel free to tell us about it below in your [...] Read more »

OnLive Released on Android

gms_mobile

Send to KindleTweet Cloud-gaming company OnLive, a service that allows users with sub-par computers to play high end games by streaming content directly to the screen, has just now released their OnLive Player App for Android Phones and tablets alike. I’ve used this service almost religiously since it came out, on my netbook, and on my TV, as I purchased the OnLive Gaming Console in June of this year. I pay next to nothing for most of my games, as I am subscribed to the PlayPass, which for $9.99 a year, I get access to 160 (mostly bargain-bin titles, but some are actually worth playing) games, and 30% off all purchases, and combined with OnLive’s almost weekly Steam-like sales, I get to keep a nice chunk of cash in my pocket. The OnLive Player app essentially allows you to play PC/Console quality games on your cell phone or tablet. That’s right, now you can enjoy games such as DiRT 3, Darksiders, and LEGO Batman right on your tablet. Even better, for a limited time, OnLive is offering LEGO Batman for free for anyone who logs in with the mobile app. It works over 3G/WiFi, and I’ve found the experience to be seamless on both connections. Breaking: YouTube Deletes Your Subscribers!

subscribers

Send to KindleTweetI was browsing my VidStatsX account this morning when I realised that I was loosing subscribers. I didn’t know why. I became suspicious and began to look at other (and bigger) YouTubers stats. To my disbelief, I discovered that YouTube were deleting EVERYONES subscribers for the last 5 hours! You don’t believe me? Well here’s the proof. Above is a list of some of the biggest YouTubers. Jon4Lakers, SoldierKnowsBest, RayWilliamJohnson and FPSRussia, all of which have lost subscribers in the last 5 hours. These are big YouTubers that never go an hour without gaining subscribers. And it’s not just them, it’s everyone. You too are loosing subscribers. but it doesn’t stop there, you are also unable to subscribe to anyone. I don’t know when you are reading this, but let’s hope the problem is fixed by then. Make sure to share this post and get word out about this huge mistake. Let’s just hope it’s an error! Read more »

YouTube To Integrate Facebook & Twitter Comments

YouTube Logo

Send to KindleTweet On YouTube’s blog today, we discovered that some new features might appear on the site over the coming weeks. As we all know, YouTube have been updating  their website substantially in the last month and this could be another ‘improvement’. we should have seen this coming when Google bought fflick, a Twitter orientated movie recommendation service, for over $10 million. YouTube are said to be integrating Facebook and Twitter updates in the comments, to ultimately expand the site. This is a smart move by Google, considering that Facebook sharing and video tweets prove to substantially improve the amount of overall views on any giving video. I’m not sure how exactly they will integrate this, but I do think that they will have to thread carefully, and not upset the current (and in my opinion perfect) comment section. Read more »
