Microsoft has finally pulled the curtain on the new Windows Mobile 7 which will be called Windows Phone 7. Microsoft is planning to completely rebuild the Windows Mobile name. Windows Phone 7 has been Microsoft’s primary focus for the last few months because it has been completely rewritten from the base up. This new mobile OS will feature a rebuilt homescreen, Zune and Xbox Live integration and new social networking tools. The UI will be very similar to that of the Zune HD with large text and slide user views. The Xbox integration will include LIVE games, avatars, and profiles and on the Zune side it will mimic the device’s features including FM radio.

Microsoft is being more harsh with the hardware with Windows Phone 7. There will now be a required CPU speed, RAM, display and possibly button configirations. There will also be no UI customizations like TouchWiz or Sense. Basically, all the Windows Phone 7 phones will all be quite similar.

Microsoft has got many carrier partnerships including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Orange, SFR, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, Telstra, T-Mobile USA, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone, while hardware partners include Dell, Garmin-Asus, HTC, HP, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Qualcomm. The fist handsets are supposed to hit the market this holiday season.
