iPhone 4 White, Release Date Confirmed?

Apple said Wednesday the white iPhone 4 won't be available until the second half of July

Send to KindleTweetAs almost everyone now knows, Apple is having issues releasing the iPhone 4 in white, but today it seems that Apple has confirmed a release date. The White iPhone will be released by the end of April on both AT&T and Verizon. But while the news is good, in other senses its just another blow to Apple as the setback is so huge, people are now most likely just going to hold out for the new iPhone that was rumored to come out in the June-July period. Unless Apple decides to postpone the release until September-October which is looking more and more likely as the wait for the white iPhone lengthens. Read more »

iPod and iPhone cases on the cheap

201001021_37491_360

Send to KindleTweetIts everyone’s dream to get an iPod or iPhone case that’s really cheap, and I don’t just mean cheap as in $15 I mean cheap as in a dollar a case! Where do you get these cases you may ask? from a website called BudgetGadgets.com, Its similar to sites like DealXtreme and UsbFeaver in the sense that they dish out c**p electronics, but are different in the iPhone and iPod case area. The Cases they provide are surprisingly rugged (if you buy silicone) They have a wide selection (over 120 for iPod and over 250 for iPhone) and they are CHEAP! Now before you say, “yes but for the price they’re just going to fall apart” well no they are not! I myself have actually brought pretty much all the silicon cases on the site for the iPod Touch 4g and can proudly say that they have not broken and are amazingly high quality! So if you want to buy some for yourself head over to http://budgetgadgets.com/ Read more »

iPhone… nano?

Send to KindleTweetRecently a Apple product Rumor has been floating around that a new iPhone is in the works, The Phone will be less expensive and is about 1/3 smaller than the current iPhone 4. The Rumor (originally started byBloomberg)  States that the iPhone would cost around $200 USD and Have no two year contract. Apple is not confirming nor dening this rumor as usual. My question to you is, what do you think about this rumor? Good, bad? My personel opinion is all for it, a smaller cheaper iPhone with no contract would be welcomed with open arms in Austrailia and New Zealand as at the moment Iphone’s on the cheapest contract cos $699 for the handset with an ongoing contract which is $45 every month for two years. Leave your opinion below. Read more »

Online Reward Sites, are they good?

BANNERS + FEATURED SLIDER TEMPLETE (1)

Send to KindleTweetAs a user of a whole heap of survey sites  I thought it would be best to talk about just a few of them out there and explain what their like. The Three I will be talking about are: SwagBucks SmileCity And Lockerz SwagBucks: Swagbucks, where do I start, Its pretty good, the fastest I have ever earned any money on a survey site, but it has its flaws, for instance being restricted to the USA, UK and Canada. I originally signed up when I was in the UK and thought it was great! I was earning about 40 points a day and had my mind set on a $5 paypal card (700 points) Once I had reached the stage where I could redeem it was a relitivley easy process and took about 2 miniutes. The problem that will annoy people was after that.  It took about 2 weeks for the actual Paypal payment to arrive. Now Yes I understand it could take a few days to process but 2 weeks? thats a long time to wait for five bucks. But this is just my personel opinion. So, lets Review: The Pros: Easy to earn Fastest Reward site. Decent UI The Cons: Long waiting time for Paypal payments Restricted to the US, Canada and the UK My Rating: 3.5/5 Smilecity: Smilecity is a OK Reward site aimed at New Zealand residents ONLY, it has a basic UI and the ways to earn are sluggish. On the upside you can use it on and off and the surveys offer some pretty good reward points, one point = 1 cent so its easy to keep track of how much cash you have earned. Now, you can earn anywhere from 0-500 points a day but thats a a good day, a REAL good day, to be honest the most I have ever earned on one day was 210 points or $2.10 pretty bad. After two years of using the site I was able to cash out my first cheque for $30 I was pretty excited until it told me that the soonest it would arrive would be in 4 weeks and the maximum it would arrivie would be 8 weeks,  great. So lets Review: The Pros: Easy to use. able to earn at least 5c a day. The Cons: Extremely long waiting times for cheques. Earning points is slow and tiresome. Restricted to New Zealand My Rating: 2/5 Lockerz: Lockerz is a well debated site, some say its good, some say its bad, and some say its rubbish (me) I joined Lockerz in November of 2009 thinking it was great, back then you could earn a decent amount of points a day and then cross your fingers and hope that a redemption was not at 2 in the morning, I got my T-Shirt in the mail and was happy, all was good. It all started going downhill when play was introduced. It was then easier to earn points, all the prizes [...] Read more »

iPhone 5 Predictions

iphone 5

Send to KindleTweetNow that the iPhone 4 has been released on Verizon’s network everybody is now looking ahead to the next big thing, the question is, will it be the iPhone 5? So let’s analyze the facts A new iPhone has come out at roughly the same point every year for the past 3 versions of the iPhone, but now that Verizon has come out with a iPhone on their network, within months of the date that the new iPhone should be released it could affect the release date of the new iPhone, and possibly push it back to sometime towards the end of this year. iPhone 5 fact: There is uncertainty about the release date. Moving on to predictions. Looks. The iPhone – 3G and 3GS all looked similar to each other but when the iPhone 4 came along the design changed quite a lot. So, for the iPhone 5 were not looking at any major design changes to the actual look of the phone itself. Camera. The iPhone 4 gave you the capabilities to shoot in 1280 by 720 (720p) so the iPhone 5 might be bringing that a step further with full 1080p recording. Display. With the new retina display being released I think that apple will stick with it for the iPhone 5. Internals. New phones such as the Motorola droid bionic are now sporting dual core processors so apple may upgrade the iPhone’s processor to dual core to compete. And that pretty much concludes my predictions. If you have something to add or have a prediction yourself please leave a comment below! Read more »

Camera+ App Review.

Send to KindleTweetCamera+ is one of my favourite apps on the iPod and iPhone simply because its packed with features and is easy to use. Camera+ costs 99c in the app store and is definitely worth the price. The first step in using camera+ is taking your photo, for this review I have taken a picture of my dog. The Pictures are relatively easy to take as all you have to do is align  your image with the grid (optional) and take your photo, You have the ability to zoom and motion track objects if you wish, but zooming can lower the quality quite a bit. To take your photo simply press the camera button and wait for the screen to flash. Once you’ve taken your photo you will be brought to this screen where you have the options to edit, save, copy and share, When you share you have the ability to upload your photo to Facebook, Twitter or Flickr and when you choose to save, it saves your photo directly to your iPod or iPhone’s photo library. To edit your photo tap the edit button and you will be brought to the editing page. On the editing page you have the ability to add numerous Scenes and Effects as well as a fairly large selection of borders. Here on the Effects page You can see that there are many different filters that can be applied all of which are in seperate catagories Color, Retro, Special and I Heart Analog which can be purchased for an extra 99c To apply your desired filter simply tap the sample image which has the effect you like on it. Finally, moving onto the borders, there are only two categories (Simple and Styled), which I was slightly disappointed about. The Borders are basic, but do there job, although the’re nothing to special the’re simplicity sometimes can go very well with certain Effects. Overall Camera+ is a very good app for its price and I would definitely recommend it over the iPod or iPhone’s default camera app. I would rate this a 8/10 Read more »
