Back around August, rumors began swirling that Samsung’s ‘phablet’, the Galaxy Note, would be getting updated to Android Jelly Bean. Little was heard since, but fans of the diminutive tablet/giant smartphone have cause to celebrate. Sammobile.com reports that the official Android 4.1.2 firmware for the Galaxy Note has been unofficially released. Leaked, in other words. Unfortunately, this means that if you don’t want to wait for the official official OTA release you’ll have to install it manually. It doesn’t look too tricky, for those willing to try instructions follow past the break. Just be warned, this may not be Samsung’s final release for the original Galaxy Note, so there could be bugs. For those brave enough to try, the Jelly Bean update brings you the same multi-window multitasking, widgets and access to Samsung’s cloud service that you’ll find in the Galaxy Note II, as well as Google Now and improved stability and performance. Flashing Instructions:
- Unzip the file
- Open Odin 3.04 (Get it from HERE)
- Restart phone in download mode (Home+power+vol down)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a yellow sign in Odin
- Add CODE_N7000XXLSA_549786_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to PDA
- Add MODEM_N7000XXLSA_REV_05_CL1222228.tar.md5 to PHONE
- Add CSC_OXA_N7000OXALSA_549786_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to CSC
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Start flash, and wait.
