Send to KindleNintendo released its latest video onto Nintendo Direct, a news service for Nintendo fans, which featured new information on Kid Icarus: Uprising and other new 3DS installments. Let’s check it out!
First up, adding on to other successful downloadable games on the Nintendo 3DS’s eShop, the new action and strategy game Dillon’s Rolling Western has just been released. The player controls a feisty armadillo that must protect a multitude of towns from the game’s main enemy: Grocks. As you can guess from the name, these hulking baddies are made out of rock, but still stand no chance towards your rolling attacks and turrets that you can build outside of towns. Considering how popular previous eShop games have been, such as Pushmo, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dillon’s Rolling Western is going to become a hit.
Next, the video switches of to Kid Icarus: Uprising and it’s new features for players to enjoy. As expected, and hinted in a previous trailer, AR (Augmented Reality) Cards will have some role in the game, and 6 will be included with the game. Another bonus is the foldable stand that will be included with the game. It appears to make playing Kid Icarus easier for prolonged periods of time, and can be set on a desk to give your wrists a break. Other details on the multiplayer mode of Kid Icarus were also released. Multiplayer can have up to 6 players, either local wireless or online. Weapons gathered in the game can be put through “Weapon Fusion”, allowing for players to use stronger hybrid weapons to suit their needs. A difficulty setting was also released, allowing for players to put their skills to the test with more enemies and better weapons.
To finish up, the new Mario sports installment was also officially announced, Mario Tennis Open. Its simple controls are welcoming to any player, and the touch screen is used for controls as well for those who prefer not to memorize button sequences. Mario Tennis Open will also have multiplayer capabilities for up to 4 players, local or online.
As a reminder to all gamers out there, Kid Icarus: Uprising will be available on March 23rd, and a preorder at certain retailers will snag you a free download of the 3D Classics: Kid Icarus from the eShop. Check out the Kid Icarus: Uprising site while you’re at it, and get acquainted with the characters and other bits of information available.
