We’ve seen iPhones, iPods, and all kinds of gadgets dropping from skies, but this iPad is a first. The guys over at G-Form have dropped an iPad from over 100,000+ feet with a balloon which popped from the altitude. The company released a stunning hi-def video where the nearly naked iPad is shown hanging above the Earth in the blackness of “space”.

Technically, the iPad wasn’t dropped from space, as the definition of space is over 350,000 feet, and this was only 100,000. The whole deal is a promotion for the company’s 6oz Extreme Edge case, but is cool none the less.

As far as we know, this is the first iPad ever in space,” said G-Form’s VP innovations, Thom Cafaro, “And definitely it’s the first iPad that’s ever free-fallen from space and survived to play more movies. We are usually known for making the most protective gear on the planet,” he continued,” so we decided why not raise the bar to off the planet too.”
