RIM Working on a Native Video Conferencing App

Hey, wouldn’t it be awesome for owners of the BlackBerry PlayBook to be able to talk to other PlayBook owners via video chat on a native application?

Well, that will be possible with the PlayBook at launch.

How is this news at all?, you might be wondering.

It’s news because no one’s talked about it until recently. Sure- we’ve seen it on commercials, ads, and the BlackBerry homepage. But have you read about it on demos or PlayBook blog posts? I haven’t.

I’m having a hard time thinking on a name for this. Will the app simply be called ‘Video Conferencing’, or will it have a FaceTime-like name?

If I had to give it a name, I’d name it either PlayTime or BlackTime, for originality and not-at-all-double-meaning’s sake.
