FourSquare 3.0 Brings Updated Leaderboard, New Deals and Recommendations

FourSquare was announced a few years back at SXSW, and FourSquare has decided that it needs a revamp on its iPhone app. A new ‘Explore’ tab has been added that will help you discover new places nearby.

A revamped leaderboard now shows a 7-day barometer of you and your friends. This is useful for anyone who is quite competitive in FourSquare (I was pretty pleased the other day because I was 1st on the Seattle FourSquare leaderboard).

You can now check in with friends at certain places, and you get special deals depending on how many friends you check in with.

The Foursquare 3.0 version will be available tonight for iOS and Android devices. The 3.0 version for BlackBerry will be later on this week.
