Green Pois0n – A Week Later

It has been a week since the Green Poison 4.2.1 Jailbreak and since then hundreds of hits were recorded to the Chronic Dev. Green Poison site. Yes, that is correct, this jailbreak was a hit. This was certainly not a surprise as jailbreaking has become extremely popular over the past few years due to the lack of variety Apple provides in their IOS. In the past, many jailbreaks have been buggy and some simply bricked the iDevice, not allowing the user to restore or even turn on their gadget, essentially breaking the device. When IOS 4.2.1 was released in November of 2010, a tethered jailbreak by the developers at Red Snow (meaning you could not shut down your device or the jailbreak would erase) was released to the public just about 2 weeks after 4.2.1′s launch. The Red Snow 4.2.1 jailbreak was littered with bugs and other issues so many loyal jailbreaking fans went back to waiting for the long awaited unveiling of an untethered, stable jailbreak. Finally, last week, Chronic Dev released a jailbreak for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with an installation time of around 3-4 minutes and most importantly, the jailbreak was untethered. The download is a simple, guided, process that almost anyone with an iPod, iPhone, or iPad could do. After using this program since the release date, I am extremely happy with what it provides as Cydia and the boot up run smoothly. As far as the jailbreak draining battery and slowing down your device, no issues have arisen with my iPod Touch 4G. This jailbreak easily deserves an 8.5/10 due to its tremendous speed and interface. The only reason I would not recommend this jailbreak to all users is due to the reported Macintosh issues when installing the jailbreak to an iDevice. To download the jailbreak, head on over to http://greenpois0n.com. Overall, the jailbreak is well-rounded with few errors such as not booting up. All these errors are able to be fixed with no issue.
