OMNITECHNEWS’S 10 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS!

Yes, we’re aware that the tradition is 12 days of Christmas- Our reindeer got sick just when we were about to get here, so we’re running a little late.

Anyway, this is Day 1 of this OmniTechNews special. This means there’s still 10 days left ’til it’s officially Christmas time, so why suffer waiting when we can make each day count? Let’s begin!

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS

There are plenty of Christmas decorations out there, especially since Santa Claus is just around the corner. But it’s so hard to choose, it’s so hard to make a decision. Should I buy these decorations? They’re nice, but I like these ones, too, and they won’t look good together… Darn, these are amazing but so expensive…

Why beat yourself up with these burning questions when we have the solutions to your problems?

We will divide this into 2 categories- Homemade decorations (guides and ideas) and geeky decorations.

1. Homemade Decorations

Personally, homemade Christmas stuff are my favorite. There’s just some warm and fuzzy feeling about it. And let’s face it- sometimes decorations made by you are awesome because you’re so awesome yourself!

So here are a few guides on homemade decorations; how to make them, the materials you will need, etc. Step-by-step guides.

How To: Make Modern Paper Holiday Garland (on the Cheap!)

A personal favorite, this how-to guide helps you make some really cool and modern-looking paper holiday garland decorations using materials you either probably already own, or are pretty cheap. Just look at the picture and tell me it doesn’t look awesome. Click on the link above to read this kick-butt guide and make your own decorations. (And if you do do it, share some pictures with us!)

How To: Make Easy Mod Christmas Paper

Also extremely hip and modern-looking, these decorations are bound to make whatever you’re decorating attractive (if you do it right). This, of course, was made by the same guy that brought us the decoration above. Although a little more complicated, you will need materials that you also probably already have, but maybe some you will have to buy. Yes, this is cheap, too. So head on over to their site and start making striking easy mod Christmas paper decorations.

2. Geeky Decorations

Circuitboard Tree Ornament Set
$19.95

Twenty dollars might seem a bit pricey for this trio of ornaments, but just look at it. They seem worth it, even though only three of these won’t be very noticeable hanging from a Christmas tree.

Make-Your-Own Geek Christmas Ornaments

This how-to guide on how to make keyboard Christmas ornaments is really cool. I think these types of ornaments really stand out. Surprise your family and make one for each of them! (Unless you live alone with your cat. Then make one for your cat.)

Those are pretty much the best I could find, if you know of any better ones, let me know on the comments!

Remember to share pictures if you buy/make one of the above products.

10 MORE DAYS ‘TIL CHRISTMAS.
