Bose IE2 (In-Ear Headphones) Review

Just a couple of weeks ago my old Bose In-Ear Headphones died on me after a 730 day run. :( However, after just a short phone call with Bose, the new model was on its way and today, I’ve got a written review (my first on OTN) of the Bose IE2 Headphones just for you.

Overview:

Firstly, what I must say about Bose is that you can expect great service and quality products. With any of their products you will have a great experience owning it. These headphones give you wonderful sound quality in such a small package, with eartips that are sure to stay in you ears. If you aren’t an audiophile, I do not recommend this product, as this product is for audio and bass lovers but, will satisfy anyone looking for a great audio experience.

   In the Box:

As you first open the box you will find the headphones in their plastic container with the medium size StayHear tips already on the earbuds. StayHear tips are Bose’s new solution to their eartips falling out of the bowl of you ear.

Below this you will find a carrying case, various manuals, and different eartips. The included eartips are StayHear large and small as well as the original small, medium and large tips.

The Pros:

The main thing I love about these headphones is the sound. With Bose you can always expect the product to be spot on. Aesthetically the headphones look very nice. The headphones are made all of plastic, with the exception of the mesh under the Bose logo, as well as the gold 3.5mm connector. The audio quality is exceptional, as each instrument is clearly able to be heard. I really would say that these headphones have somewhat of a surround sound like factor to them. For an audiophile, its a great buy.

The Cons:

Price. Price is the main con for these headphones. If you aren’t a complete audio nerd like me, Skullcandies will do just fine. For the price, I am sure there are better sounding earbuds for the price, however, I do not believe there are any earbuds, at all, in range of the confortability and quality of the Bose, even at the price.

What You Need to Know:

Overall these headphones are great. The decision to buy them is completely up to what you are looking for. If you are looking for incredible bass in a small package, or great sound and the Bose name, buy them! However, if you are on a budget or just don’t want Bose, check out SkullCandy. They make great headphones and earbuds for a great price.

If you want great sound and thumping bass with great customer service, Bose is the way to go.

If you are looking to pick these up, they will run you $99 US.
