A Great iPhone Case for 1 Cent? It’s Possible (Default Case Review)

When I first stumbled across the website, Defaultcase.com, I didn’t think that it was possible to get an iPhone case for 1 cent. It just doesn’t happen in this money-crazy world. I investigated more into the website and they sent me along some review units. I still didn’t believe that these cases were real, or any good.

I tried out the iPhone 4 case for the first time and it was just AMAZING. The case itself is very durable, and it felt like it could protect an iPhone 4 from a nasty fall. Putting on the case for the first time was very simple, unlike a lot of the current cases from Griffin or Incipio. The iPhone 4 version also helped with the signal problems that people have been whining about. The Default Case provides great grip which is one of the main issues that I find with the iPhone 4. The brighter colored cases (green and blue) were a bit distracting when trying to read text in the dark. It catches the eye which can be very annoying at times. The brighter colors also don’t really go with the iPhone’s design.

The DefaultCase provides accessibility to the power port, sleep/wake button, and volume rockers without much issue. A lot of the time, I have problems with the sleep/wake button on cases but not on this case. The problem with a “wide open” top and bottom is that there is not much protection in these areas. If you dropped your iPhone with a DefaultCase on it, the top would get busted up. That being said, I think the design of this case is really unique, and looks great no matter what color you get it in.

Other than the few issues I have with the case, the Default Case for iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 is the best all-round case I have found in a long time. Coming in 9 vibrant colors (including black and white), this case is one of the best I have ever used. All for 1 cent. If your on a budget for a new case for your $500 iPhone, it’s not too much of a stretch to get a Default Case for 1 cent.
