Apple to launch a Google Earth-ish type service?

Apple has just purchased a Canadian company called Poly9. Poly9 specializes in creating 3D interactive graphics that run inside your browser. Now, if you ask me, this sounds like a potential opportunity for Apple to hop on the “Earth-viewing” bandwagon. What’s a little strange is that Poly9’s graphics run primarily on Flash. Apple HATES Flash. So what was the logic behind this purchase? We’ll just have to wait and see what Steve has planned for us.
