Details on Kinect and a new Xbox!?

Ok, today Microsoft held a giant Xbox 360 and Kinect event where a lot of cool things were announced. To start off, there are a lot of new details on Kinect. First off, we now know that the Kinect device will be available starting on November 4th of 2010. We also know that Kinect will be capable of performing video calls through Xbox Live and Windows Live Messenger. At the time of launch, there will be 15 titles available for Kinect. There is still no official word on pricing but a new leak is saying $150. That sounds pretty accurate.

The next and frankly more exciting piece of news is…a new Xbox 360! The name is still the same, but just about everything else on the console has been updated. The new Xbox 360 is much thinner, quieter, and shinier. Things like a touch sensitive power button, a new 250GB hard drive, a new lighter power supply, 5 USB ports, and a more powerful CPU and GPU. Also new, is 802.11n  WiFi.

The new Xbox 360 will cost the same $300 and is being shipped to retailers today. Here are some press photos from today’s event:
