Google’s I/O developer conference began today and some pretty interesting announcements have been made. The biggest of them is that Google is going to be launching a Chrome Web-Apps store. This feature will be Chrome and Chrome-OS specific so you better start using one of the two if you want all the web-app goodness.
Another piece of big news is that Google Wave will soon be available to everyone, as opposed to the invite key system that is currently the only way to use Wave. The whole Wave project hasn’t been that big of a success but Google seems to think that it’s ready for the public.
These are the two major announcements so far at I/O. Other smaller things include that Chrome now has over 70 million users, a new version of App Engine for businesses, and something called the Google Font Directory.
