Twitter Acquires Tweetie; now the Official iPhone Twitter App

There are many great iPhone Twitter apps out there but Twitter seems to have taken a liking to Tweetie. Mobile apps has always been a big thing for Twitter and analysis shows that there is an area for improvement in the world of mobile Twitter apps. Twitter has made an agreement with Atebits to acquire Tweetie, their iPhone Twitter app. Tweetie will be renamed Twitter for iPhone and will be made free for anyone with an iPod Touch or iPhone. Atebits has also promised that an iPad app will be coming soon.
