Apple gave Aperture a refresh today, bringing some new features. Some of the new features include Faces, Places, geo-tagged photos and HD video. The faces feature works very similar to iPhoto 09 except in a new view, you can view all the new untagged photos. In places, you tag photos that were not taken with a camera, with a GPS. Aperture now supports HD video up to 1080p. In the new Aperture, there are now brushes for doing retouches without having to bring the photo into Photoshop.
Aperture 3 will be avaliable for $199 and the upgrade will cost $99. A trial can be downloaded here. This app will run in 64 bit on OSX Snow Leopard on Intel Core 2 Duo Macs.
